The suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has been released from detention.
Magu released Wednesday evening, was arrested last week Monday, July 6 and had since been in detention.

Magu had been kept in custody, since his arrest last week, following series of allegations levelled against him by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
Malami had accused Magu of insubordination, mismanagement and lack of transparency in managing recovered assets by the EFCC, claiming he had used recovered looted funds for self enrichment.
Consequently, Magu was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari, who immediately approved Mohammed Umar to replace him, pending the conclusion of the investigation
