COVID-19 lockdown: Buhari won’t address Nigerians today, Presidency says

President Muhammadu Buhari is not addressing Nigerians in a national broadcast Wednesday evening, the Presidency has said.

The media had widely circulated information about the President’s broadcast holding today, as attributed to the national coordinator of Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, who featured on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

But the Presidential Spokesperson, Femi Adesina, clarifying the issue on Monday, said, there is “no presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today.”

He said on his Twitter handle: “No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps.”
