Edo deputy speaker, Idiaye, impeached 24 hours after backing APC’s Ize-Iyamu

The deputy speaker of the Edo House of Assembly Yekini Idiaye, was, on Wednesday, impeached.

The impeachment of Idiaye, a lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo Constituency I in the assembly, came a day after he declared support for the All Progressives Party (APC) candidate in the state governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Ize-Iyamu, is the main opposition to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Edo State governorship election.
