Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has condoled with a former deputy governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over the passing of his monarch father, Olu of Olode, Oba David Omisore.
The governor described the late Oba Omisore as a respected father and an outstanding traditional ruler, who, during his lifetime, exhibited the Omoluabi values of hard work, discipline, integrity and commitment to the service of his people.
Governor Oyetola, in a condolence statement signed by Ismail Omipidan, his Chief Press Secretary, said the late traditional ruler will be greatly missed, while urging Senator Omisore and other members of the family to take solace in the fulfilled and exemplary life their father lived and to continue with the good works he left behind.

The statement read: “On behalf of my family, government and people If Osun, I commiserate with the former deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on the transition of his father, the Olu of Olode, Oba David Omisore. I also offer my heartfelt condolences to the entire Omisore family and the people of Ife.
“I encourage Senator Omisore and other members of the family to take solace in the fulfilled and exemplary life the late traditional ruler lived and to continue with the good works he left behind, to keep his memory alive.”
Governor Oyetola also prayed that God will grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and grant his bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Oba Omisore, celebrated his 90th birthday last year, and would be sorely missed by the people of Olode in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, and the state at large.
His son, Senator Omisore, a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State, served the state as a deputy governor under the Alliance for Democracy (AD), and later as a two-time Senator representing Ife East Senatorial District under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Omisore was also a two-time governorship aspirant under the PDP and contested in the September 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun State as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
