Former Osun deputy gov, Omisore, loses monarch father at 90

Former Osun State deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore’s father, the Olu of Ayepe Olode, Oba Olajide Omisore, has passed away at the age of 90.

The monarch, who marked his 90th birthday in July, 2021, according to the information released, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

A statement announcing his demise, read: “On behalf of the OMISORE Dynasty, it is with the deepest sense of loss and gratitude to God that we inform you of the triumphant return of our beloved father Oba David Olajide Omisore to his Heavenly Father.

“Baba joined his ancestors peacefully. Kabiyesi sailed on January 04, 2022. Further announcement would be made in due course.”

Omisore, a former Senator representing the people of Osun East at the Senate from 2003 to 2009, was also a former Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the September 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun State.

The Ife-born politician, apart from serving his home state as a deputy governor from 1999 to 2003, as a Senator, representing Osun East Senatorial District, within this period, he was appointed the appropriation committee chairman at the upper chambers, through which he facilitated developmental projects to his state and senatorial district.

Omisore is a philanthropic loved by his people.
