Obaseki visits PDP’s Wike in Rivers to seek support after rejection by APC for Edo governorship

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has paid a visit to Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.

The Sunday afternoon visit to seek the support of Governor Wike of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been projected to be a step further in his plan to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after he was disqualified from taking part in the governorship primary election in Edo State.

The Wike, Obaseki meeting came after it had earlier been rumoured that Obaseki was planning to defect to another political party after his disqualification.

Governor Wike of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had announced the arrival of Obaseki to Rivers State in a tweeted he posted on Twitter.

“With H.E Godwin Obaseki at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt,” Wike tweeted, as he also attacks pictures of their meeting.

However, Wike did not disclosed the purpose of the visit.
