The General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has declared his support for the #EndSARS protests which has lasted for days in Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye, on Wednesday, threw his weigh behind the rampaging Nigeria youths in a tweet via his Twitter handle.

He said in tweet: “Our daughters will not be able to prophesy and young men will not see visions if we don’t keep them alive.

“I support the youths in this peaceful protest as they “speak up” to #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSARS #ENDSWAT.”

Adeboye, popularly called Daddy GO, is a spiritual father to millions of Nigerian Christians, including Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, had earlier in the year condemned the state of insecurity in Nigeria, as he embarked on prayer walk in Lagos State with many of his church member as a way of protesting against the killings in several parts of the country.

Likewise, two weeks ago, he called for restructuring the country, but his intervention had been criticised by the Presidency.

Consequent upon the growing state of insecurity in Nigeria, thousands of youths have launched out in protest against the extrajudicial killings by a unit of the Nigeria Police called the the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), and called for its proscription.

In the protests that have lasted for days now, about 10 persons have been killed according to rights group, Amnesty International.

Still with the killings and not minding the fact that government had acceded to their demands by dissolving the condemned SARS unit, the protests have continued unabated.
