Nigerians have applauded officers and men of the armed forces for the successful dislodgement of Boko Haram terrorists in Marte, Borno State.

They said replacing Boko Haram flag with the Nigerian flag after the crushing defeat of the insurgents in one of their strongholds was a significant demonstration of bravery by troops of the Nigerian Army who gallantly fought alongside the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole.

While congratulating the soldiers for a job well done, they advised military authorities to work with other agencies like the NIA and the DSS to surgically route out Boko Haram cells operating within cities and provide intelligence to further enhance effective operations against the terrorists.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have frowned at the unpatriotic disposition of many media organizations in suppressing news on the successes and achievements of troops battling insurgents in the Northeast.

According to them, these media outlets rather focus their efforts in magnifying and blowing news of Boko Haram attacks on troops. This, they say, is a way of giving the terrorists undue media advantage over government forces who are fighting to keep everyone safe.

They, therefore, called for a change of attitude on the part of Nigerian media practitioners.

The trend got about 20,000 reactions.
