8 months to 2023 elections: Obi in Egypt to learn how to fix power, economic problems

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has flown out of Nigeria to “understudy the Egyptian power sector, education, planning and finance sectors.”

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State this on Tuesday, announced his trip through his official Twitter handle.

According to him: “I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria,” he wrote.

“In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors.”

Obi’s trip is coming barely eight months before the presidential election scheduled to hold in February 2023.

A former running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election under the PDP ticket, Obi, who recently dumped the party for LP to emerge its standard-bearer, had said he would be moving Nigeria from “consumption to production” as its president.
