President Bola Tinubu has decorated Nigeria’s Sevice Chiefs with their new ranks at the presidential villa, Abuja, six weeks after he appointed them to their new roles.
The four of them, the Chief of Defense Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff and the Chief of Air Staff, arrived at the council chamber, Aso Rock, Abuja, Monday afternoon, July 31, 2023, to formally receive their new ranks from the president.

Those decorated are Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar.
Their appointment was announced by the president on Monday, June 19, 2023.
