A traditional ruler, Oba Samuel Afolabi, believed to be the Nigeria’s oldest monarch, having his domain in Oyo State, is dead, aged 141.
He was the Onilua of Ilua, in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, in South West Nigeria, until he breathed his last.
Oba Afolabi, who was said to have been born in 1879, was enthroned as king in the community 38 years ago, at the age of 102, after a unanimous agreement by the kingmakers and community leaders.

He died in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness related to old age.
The late monarch, born to the Afolabi family in Ilua, in his early days, was a commercial farmer at Arigidana, Baba Ode in Itesiwaju Local Government of the state before his coronation as king.
He succeeded Oba Majaro in 1981.
