Tackling Africa’s foundational learning crisis is central to the organisation’s vision of reaching 100 million people by 2033.
Across sub-Saharan Africa, nine out of ten children cannot read and understand a simple text by age ten.
A child who cannot read will struggle to understand a science textbook or follow an instruction manual.
Resolving this crisis is an African priority and a global responsibility.
Osinbajo commended African Missions Global’s visioner, Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye.
He also praised Board of Trustees Chair Pastor Brown Oyitso and Chief Executive Officer Pastor Eyono Fatai-Williams.
He noted their work in mobilising action to ensure every child can read, write, work with numbers and build the foundations for a more promising future.
The Horizon 2033 initiative aims to impact 100 million lives through education and related social programmes.
Foundational literacy and numeracy form a core part of that ambition.
The conference brought together partners focused on values-based education and practical interventions across the continent.
