The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has called on the party’s leadership and members across the country to embrace peace and forge a common front for unity that guarantees victory for APC at the 2023 polls.

Adam said this on Wednesday, while declaring open and welcoming members to the 11th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party, and the first to be presided over by him and his executive team since after they were sworn in as new leaders of the party last month.

Those in attendance at the APC NEC meeting include President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governors, Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan; his deputy Senator Ovie Omo- Agege; Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila; his deputy, Hon. Idris Ahmed Wase, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and other party leaders.

Adamu, welcoming the attendees warned against disunity in the party, as he acknowledged the fact that such is imminent in the ruling party, and cautioned members against the illusion that it cannot lose 2023 elections.

The APC National Chairman while also warning that the party must guide against complacency, reminded members of what befell the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 because of disunity in the party, saying that was part of what caused its loss at the presidential election.
