Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among global leaders and development partners following a series of engagements at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany.
Osinbajo said it was a pleasure reconnecting with World Trade Organisation Director General, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
He noted that Okonjo-Iweala had recently accepted, at short notice, to share insights on emerging issues in global trade during the Future of Development Cooperation Coalition retreat in London.
The former Vice President also met with Sudanese, British businessman and philanthropist Mo Ibrahim.
He equally interacted with Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Faruk Yabo.
Osinbajo also praised United Nations Global Peace Advocate, Maryam Hassan Bukar, popularly known as Alhanislam, for her captivating poetic performance at the conference’s closing ceremony.

According to him, Bukar received a standing ovation from participants in recognition of her inspiring presentation.
“It was good to catch up with my dear sister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who also very kindly accepted to share insights on emerging issues in global trade with us at the FDCC retreat in London at short notice, and also with my brother Mo Ibrahim, the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development Faruk Yabo, and with Maryam Hassan Bukar (Alhanislam), UN Global Peace Advocate, who received a standing ovation for her amazing poetic performance at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference closing ceremony,” Osinbajo said.
