Ahead of the much-talked-about presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), supporters of the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor, Yemi Osinbajo SAN, on Friday, May 27, 2022, launched a crowdfunding portal to seek financial support for his presidential bid.
The portal, https://pyopartners.org/ was launched by a group identified as PYO Global Partners to solicit funding from small and big donors across the country in the pursuit of achieving Osinbajo’s presidency in 2023.
Calling on Nigerians to support the project, the group implored the electorate to “do away with stomach infrastructure for real infrastructure: Rome, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and others were not built on stomach infrastructure but purposeful leadership.”
It said: “You can bank on PYO to engineer the leap forward, charging that, ” to empower the best CEO: remuneration to get the best hands to manage his company. Nigeria is our commonwealth; we must empower the right man for the job.”
Vice president Osinbajo is a leading presidential aspirant under the platform of APC which has set its national convention on Sunday, 29th of May 2022, where the party will elect the candidate that will fly its ticket at the general elections in 2023.
However, President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday, held a closed-door meeting with VP Osinbajo before he departed for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to participate in the African Union (AU) extra-ordinary Session of Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
Although the details of the meeting between the two leaders were not disclosed to the public some feelers said part of the issues centred on the upcoming presidential primary election of APC, where Osinbajo is expected to emerge as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
