Tears, emotions as Nigerians bid Ibidunni Ighodalo farewell in solemn funeral

Pastor Ituah Ighdalo, joined by his children, family members and Nigerians bid his late wife, Ibidunni, farewell in a solemn funeral on Saturday.

In an emotion-laden programme, tears flowed as Ibidunni, the late industrious wife of the Lagos-based preacher and founder of Trinity House, Pastor Ighodalo, was buried on Saturday afternoon.

Ibidunni, who died on Sunday, June 14, 2020 of suspected cardiac arrest in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, where she was said to have gone to help the state government set up the COVID-19 solutions centres, was laid to rest at a private residence.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, represented Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, at the funeral service which aired live via the church’s social media platforms.

The General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, was represented by Pastor Idowu Oluyomade, Personal Assistant to the GO.

Pastor Ighodalo was a former member of the RCCG, where he was a pastor before establishing his own church.

Pastor Adeboye, in his tribute, earlier before the funeral the late Ibidunni, had gone to a “better place.”

“Hearing the news of Ibidunni Ighodalo’s demise was really saddening but I know that she is in a better place right now. I pray that the Almighty himself will comfort the family of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo in Jesus name,” Pastor Adeboye wrote on Facebook.
