Tinubu to appoint 20 special advisers as Senate approves request

President Bola Tinubu is set to name a new set of aides after the Senate granted his request to appoint 20 special advisers.

President Tinubu’s request was granted after it was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, on the floor of the Red Chamber, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

After the letter was read, Senate Leader, Senator Ibrahim Gobir from APC representing Sokoto-East, moved that “the Senate do consider the request of Mr President C-in-C for the approval of the Senate to appoint 20 Special Advisers.”

The motion was seconded by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Philip Aduda, from the PDP, representing the Federal Capital Territory, after which the Senate approved the President’s request.
