Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has lauded the Nigerian Super Falcons for their dramatic comeback victory over Morocco to claim a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, calling the performance “vintage Naija.”
In a rousing tribute shared shortly after the final whistle in Rabat, Osinbajo captured the emotional swing of the night and the resilience of the Nigerian team, who clawed back from two goals down to defeat the host nation in a pulsating final.
“Well… I trust someone gently warned Morocco. When Nigeria arrives quietly, it is often because we intend to leave with all the noise,” Osinbajo began, setting the tone for a poetic salute to the team’s character.

Describing the moment the Super Falcons turned the tide, he said: “What happened tonight in Rabat was vintage Naija. Two goals down. A stadium roaring. But our @nigeriasuperfalcons? They did not panic. They adjusted their wings.”
Osinbajo praised key moments of the game, highlighting Okoronkwo’s composed penalty, Ijamilusi’s equaliser, and Echegini’s winning goal, a set piece he described as “signed, sealed, and sent from Abuja.”
“Three goals. One comeback written with resolve. And a trophy that now tells its own story in green white green,” he wrote.
He closed his tribute with a line that resonated deeply with fans across social media:
“We play with fire in our feet and faith in our future. Because we may bend, but we never break.
And in case the world needs a reminder… Naija no dey carry last.”
The tribute quickly gained traction online, with many praising the former VP for his inspiring words and unwavering support for Nigerian excellence on the global stage.
