Former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, together with his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, graced the fourth edition of the Open Day for Gardeners held at the Ecobank Pan African Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, which ran from Friday, 1st to Sunday, 3rd August 2025, brought together gardening enthusiasts, environmental advocates, and industry stakeholders in what has now become one of the country’s most anticipated platforms for green innovation and sustainable living.
Since its inception, Open Day for Gardeners has steadily grown from a modest gathering into a vibrant hub where individuals passionate about horticulture, landscaping, and eco-friendly living converge to share ideas, showcase products, and celebrate the beauty of nature.
The fourth edition continued this tradition, offering a dynamic blend of exhibitions, interactive sessions, and learning opportunities. Visitors encountered stalls displaying colourful flowers, ornamental plants, home and garden accessories, and a wide range of eco-friendly products, all curated to inspire both seasoned gardeners and beginners alike.

The event also created space for learning through workshops and masterclasses, where experts engaged participants on modern gardening techniques, landscaping solutions, and the role of urban farming in addressing food security.
Families brought their children along, turning the exhibition floors into an animated mix of learning and leisure, as young people were introduced to the joy of tending plants and the value of cultivating greener habits. Beyond the displays, it was equally a networking ground where professionals, entrepreneurs, and nature lovers exchanged ideas on building sustainable cities and healthier lifestyles.
Osinbajo, who attended as the Special Guest of Honour, lent his presence to the opening activities of the three-day programme, with Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo also sharing in the moment.
Their attendance was widely noted as a significant endorsement of the values the event seeks to promote, values that align with the growing calls for sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the harnessing of Nigeria’s green economy for enterprise and well-being.
For many of the organisers and participants, the Open Day for Gardeners is not merely an exhibition but a movement. It symbolises a gradual yet determined effort to reconnect people with nature, foster wellness, reduce the stress of urban living, and inspire a new culture of environmental consciousness.
The fourth edition once again affirmed this vision, positioning the event as a unique gathering where lifestyle, enterprise, and sustainability meet in a colourful celebration of growth and green possibilities.
