The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the release of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, with 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the exercise already able to access their scores.

The examination, which began nationwide on 16 April 2026, is being conducted in multiple sessions across accredited Computer Based Test centres, with over 2.2 million candidates registered for this year’s exercise.

According to the board, candidates who wrote the exam can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.

At this stage, only score viewing is available, while result slips for printing will be released later.

JAMB emphasised that the release is being done in phases, noting that additional batches will follow as marking and processing continue.

It also confirmed that results for candidates who sat on subsequent days, including 17 April, are expected to be released shortly after completion of each session.

The board issued a stern warning against result falsification, describing any attempt to alter SMS score notifications as a criminal offence.

It disclosed that enforcement actions have already begun, with two candidates and one parent reportedly in custody over alleged manipulation of results using digital tools.

JAMB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the credibility of the examination process, urging candidates to rely only on official channels while the nationwide exercise continues.
