Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife were among prominent Nigerians who attended the funeral service for Anthony Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, in Lagos on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Trinity Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos State. Punch published its report at 5:01pm on August 13.
Other prominent personalities at the service included former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Florence Ajimobi, wife of the late Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, former African Development Bank President Akinwunmi Adesina and Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji.

Anthony Adeosun, a businessman, died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 62.
A statement issued on behalf of the family by Rev. C. A. Adeosun described the deceased as a devoted Christian who made a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
The funeral service brought together political leaders, business figures, professionals, friends and associates of the Adeosun family to pay their final respects to the deceased.
Osinbajo’s attendance was particularly notable given his long standing relationship with members of Nigeria’s political and professional establishment. He attended the service alongside his wife, while Fashola and Fayemi were among the former governors present.
Florence Ajimobi also attended the service, joining other dignitaries in mourning the loss and offering support to the bereaved family.
Following the conclusion of the church service, the family proceeded with a private burial for Anthony Adeosun.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, Kemi, their children and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
The funeral came eight days after his death on August 5, bringing together several prominent figures from Nigeria’s political, business and public service circles.
