Robbers invade Kogi bank, kill police boss, 7 others, 1 civilian

Daredevil armed robbers invaded a bank in Kogi State on Thursday, leaving many people dead during the operation.

In the robbery incident which took place at Isanlu area of the state, a District Police Officer (DPO), seven other policemen and a civilian were killed.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Kogi Command, William Ayah, who confirmed the attack, said he could not ascertain the number of casualties.

Ayah, however, said investigations were ongoing.

As gathered, the robbers had earlier laid ambush at the police station at about 1.00 p.m. and opened fire on all officers and men on duty.

Thereafter, they set free all detainees in the cell, and headed for the only commercial bank in Isanlu town, where they gruesomely killed the nine people.
