There is something extraordinary about people who are about to give birth.
Everyone knows something is coming.
Nobody knows the exact moment.
The waiting can feel endless.
The discomfort grows by the day.
The body changes.
The emotions change.
Even ordinary days begin to feel extraordinary.
Yet every mother knows one reassuring truth.
The longer the waiting, the closer the arrival.
No pregnancy lasts forever.
No labour remains unfinished.
Every birth has an appointed hour.
Curiously, life itself seems to obey the same law.
Not always loudly.
Not always quickly.
But remarkably consistently.
Some people are about to resign.
Some are about to be employed.
Some are about to be promoted.
Some are about to become parents.
Some are about to graduate.
Some are about to marry.

Some are about to build their first home.
Some are about to discover the opportunity that changes everything.
Some are about to recover from an illness that has lasted for years.
Some are about to walk through doors that have remained closed for decades.
The strange thing is that, while all this is happening, nothing appears to be happening.
To everyone else, life looks ordinary.
The waiting feels ordinary.
The silence feels ordinary.
Yet some of history’s greatest moments were once hidden inside ordinary days.
David was once merely another shepherd. 1 Samuel 16:11 to 13.
Joseph was once merely another prisoner. Genesis 39:20 to 23, Genesis 41:39 to 44.
Ruth was once merely another widow. Ruth 1:4, Ruth 4:13 to 17.
Esther was once merely another orphan. Esther 2:7, Esther 2:17.
History only remembers the day they arrived.
It often forgets the years they waited.
Perhaps that is why waiting is one of life’s greatest tests.
Waiting asks a question success never asks.
Can you still believe before you can see?
Farmers understand this.
They sow long before they harvest.
Builders understand this.
They dig foundations nobody applauds.
Musicians practise before audiences appear.
Athletes train before medals exist.
Every worthwhile future spends time becoming ready.
Yet modern society has made waiting feel like failure.
If promotion delays, something must be wrong.
If marriage delays, questions begin.
If employment delays, anxiety arrives.
If prayers delay, faith is tested.
Perhaps we misunderstand delay.
Delay is not always denial.
Sometimes it is development.
Fruit ripens before it is picked.
Gold is refined before it is displayed.
Diamonds remain buried long before they are admired.
The greatest transformations usually happen where applause cannot reach.
Nature has always known this.
Night never argues with dawn.
Winter never competes with spring.
Seeds never panic beneath the soil.
They simply keep becoming what they were created to become.
Human beings, however, struggle with invisible progress.
We celebrate arrival.
GOD often works in preparation.
The philosopher Aristotle observed that, “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”
Centuries later, Ralph Waldo Emerson would write, “Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience.”

Neither man was describing pregnancy.
Yet both understood one of life’s oldest mysteries.
Everything meaningful requires time before it can appear.
Scripture reaches the same conclusion.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1.
And again,
“Though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3.
Notice the paradox.
It seems to delay.
Yet GOD says it will not delay.
Perhaps because Heaven measures time differently from human anxiety.
Then comes the truth many people spend their lives overlooking.
Perhaps the greatest mistake everyone still makes…
…is believing that only mothers give birth.
Life does.
Seasons do.
Faith does.
Character does.
Patience does.
Vision does.
Discipline does.
Sacrifice does.
A mother’s labour gives birth to a child.
A student’s diligence gives birth to becoming a graduate.
Years of faithful service give birth to promotion.
Courtship gives birth to marriage.
Perseverance gives birth to mastery.
Integrity gives birth to trust.
Hard work gives birth to prosperity.
Prayer gives birth to testimony.
Seeds give birth to harvests.

Winter gives birth to spring.
Night gives birth to dawn.
Nothing truly valuable simply appears.
It is first conceived.
Then nurtured.
Then carried.
Then finally brought forth.
You are about to give birth to your baby.
You are about to give birth to your graduation.
You are about to give birth to your first employment.
You are about to give birth to your promotion.
You are about to give birth to your dream home.
You are about to give birth to your marriage.
You are about to give birth to your business.
You are about to give birth to your ministry.
You are about to give birth to your book.
You are about to give birth to your invention.
You are about to give birth to your healing.
You are about to give birth to your restoration.
You are about to give birth to your testimony.
You are about to give birth to your purpose.
You are about to give birth to the future GOD has been quietly preparing for you.
What feels like delay is preparation.
What feels like silence is growth.
What feels invisible is becoming visible.
What feels unfinished is approaching its appointed hour.
You are not empty.
You are…
