A Nigerian entertainment mogul and entrepreneur, Augustine Emeka Ugbaja, popularly known as Dr Whyte Official, has described entertainment which he has invested appreciably into as his life.

I can’t do without it, especially, bearing it in mind that, this is where I made my means of daily living. I’ve done entertainment for the better part of my life, and I’m sure this is the right way to go that the entertainment industry is a lucrative business that you don’t need too much of funds to start something meaningful.

Ugbaja, the CEO and founder of Southnice Records, said, at this period that the crude oil is not selling as it used to, there is a need to divest into other productive sector of the economy which can liberate the company from its economic predicament.

According to him, “if government can invest in the entertainment industry, this will go a long way to raise its economic stake, saying, there are still many grounds to break with new opportunities lurking around.

“The government should come to our aid, corporate companies are welcome too. The Covid-19 pandemic has created another problem for us. We need to be helped in the industry to solve issues of financial concerns.

Let’s always encouraged our youths to get serious with their callings and seek help where confused. They have to go to school to learn fast, the back stage. Our youths should prioritise their educational pursuits before getting busy with other endeavours.

There has to be good familial understanding too, to encourage our youths from their childhood, so, later in life they will be responsible for themselves and others around them to be well positioned for success.

He said the entertainment industry is where people who don’t really have a lot of money to put into business at once can venture into with beautiful idea and still register a meaningful presence.

“I can assure you that the first thing you need to excel as an entertainment investor or a direct practitioner is your good ideas and mutually rewarding collaborations.

“You need to know what you want to achieve and the extent you want to go in the industry. These are what will sum up to be your driving force and what sets the standard for you.

“It is also good for one to note that the quality of those you sign on your label is very important too, and this you begin to measure with the level of education. They have to have an appreciable level of education and good exposure for them to compete favourably,” Dr Whyte Official said.

Ugbaja, the CEO and founder of Southnice Records, also admonished parents to prioritise their children’s education, saying, “let’s always encouraged our youths to get serious with their callings and seek help where confused.

“They have to go to school to learn so they can develop the required confidence needed both on stage and at the backstage. Our youths should prioritise their educational pursuits before getting busy with other endeavours.”

This, Ugbaja said helped artistes like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and a host of others currently making waves in the industry.

There has to be good understanding in different families on the value of education, so they can encourage our youths from their childhood, so that, later in life they will be responsible for themselves and others around them to be well-positioned for success.
